Question 621 August 2008

Overnight stay guidance for business travellers

Our company wishes to issue guidance to employees who travel on company business. We wish to avoid the situation where a tired employee faces a hazardous drive home after a long working day which might even involve a return flight within the UK. There comes a point where an overnight stay should be considered - or perhaps required by the employer.

Has any member considered this issue and drafted appropriate guidance?
